La Bandita was most recently highlighted in Architectural Digest of the where to stay and what to do in Val D’Orcia region of Tuscany. La Bandita is situated at the peak of a historic cypress-lined drive overlooking miles of the Tuscan countryside. This unique villa is luxury at its finest, yet comfort in every room, from the music playing as you enter the main house to the gorgeous linens on every bed and in every bathroom. The modern accommodations contrast beautifully to the exterior of this splendidly and exquisitely renovated farmhouse style villa. The owner, John Voightmann, is a former music executive out of New York and brought uber cool with him to Tuscany.

Standing outside La Bandita, you realize you have just climbed from the world of Tuscan history into what feels like heaven. La Bandita is awash with crisp, white, airy couches, table and lights. This bi-level villa opens to a cozy seating area, along and lean dining table to relax, eat and sip wine with fellow guests and a contemporary kitchen with a full-time chef at your disposal. You immediately feel comfortable and at ease here, while immersed in luxury and elegance. There are 2 bedrooms on the lower level of the main villa and 5 bedrooms on the upper level.  There is an expansive upper-level seating area that invites you to nestle in front of the fireplace. The view from every window, even the bathroom windows, delights you in the rolling countryside of the Val D’Orcia region.

Pig Sty Suite- yes, you read that right:

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (sleeps 2)
This free-standing, anything but a Pig Sty suite, sits across the way from the entrance of the main villa. It opens to an intimate kitchen and dining area where you can find seclusion, should you seek it. It extends the same environment as the main villa in its white-washed elegance. The poster bed with it’s flowing overhead linens invites the afternoon riposa (rest) and the back of this suite offers an outdoor, private sitting area, perfect for taking in the sunset while overlooking the serene waters of the pool below.

Grounds:  
You will feel like you are all alone when up at La Bandita. It is removed and distant from all that you leave behind when you take a  vacation to the hills of Italy. As soon as you exit the main street that takes you to La Bandita, you start the ascent to this secluded retreat. You can borrow the bicycles from the villa, you can see the local sights, you can plan daily excursions away from La Bandita, but you will truly be hard-pressed to leave once you get here. There are a number of outdoor areas to explore and find salvation. There is an outdoor fire pit that hangs over the valley below, a covered patio strewn with subtle outdoor lights and a secondary dining area around a quiet corner for more intimate nights. La Bandita has a wood-burning outdoor oven to offer traditional Italian pizzas and enough land situated in the midst of the Lucciola Bella Nature Reserve to make you think you are the only one for miles around. It is a breathtaking property.
