Casa del Sole is a beautifully restored 17th century estate just outside the walls of Cortona, Tuscany. There are three buildings on the property- the Villa, Farmhouse and Limonaia, which together create a spacious, luxurious retreat. Fluffy bathrobes, slippers and the finest Egyptian cotton linens are waiting in your comfortable rooms. A welcome hamper of local specialties, a stocked wine cellar, splendid pool, and warm jacuzzi, and daily housekeeping all combine to make you feel pampered. All you have to do is relax and enjoy! The location, nestled into the hills of Cortona (of “Under the Tuscan Sun” fame), can’t be beat.

The Villa:
The Villa is suited to accommodate ten guests in five bedrooms. There are four rooms on the first floor, which are the largest, three with bath and shower and one with shower. There is an additional smaller double bedroom on the ground floor with a bath and a shower. These rooms all have beautiful views, either over the garden up to Cortona or over the valley. Each room is individually designed featuring antique furniture, handwoven Busatti fabrics, beautiful travertine stone for the bathrooms and the highest quality bed linen.

The Farmhouse:
The Farmhouse is suited to accommodate eight guests in four double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, two with a bath and a shower and two with just a shower. Entering the Farmhouse into the large common rooms with their beautiful, ancient stone walls, it’s difficult to believe that this building was ever used to house the estate’s animals. The building has been restored to the utmost in luxury while retaining its old-world charm. The bedrooms all have breathtaking views over the garden. As in the Villa, each room is individually designed featuring antique furniture, handwoven Busatti fabrics, beautiful travertine stone for the bathrooms and the highest quality bed linen.

Limonaia:
The Limonaia is a double suite with an en-suite shower room, living area with double sofa bed and a private terrace with beautiful views out over the valley. This room has been carefully designed using colors from the original 17th Century fresco which covers the dome ceiling of the living room. Soft pinks, turquoise, and creams make this a very relaxing, special place to stay. With its own private terrace, you have complete privacy from the rest of the garden.

Grounds:
Much attention has been paid to every detail of this estate. The expansive gardens and pool are breathtaking, the outdoor furniture is beautiful and comfortable and there is even a hammock under the fruit trees for those lazy afternoons.
